Terms of Service

Welcome to Bread. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bread mobile application ("the app", "Bread") and any related services. By downloading, installing, or using Bread, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About the App

Bread is a mobile application designed to help users learn and practice sourdough bread baking. The app provides educational content, baking tools, recipe management, and tracking features. Bread is provided on a freemium model, with certain features available only to paying subscribers ("Bread Premium").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Bread. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the app, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account and User Data

Bread does not require account creation. Your profile and usage data are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, app uninstallation, or other circumstances beyond our control.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Bread Premium

Bread Premium is a paid subscription that unlocks access to the full course, all recipes, baking tools, journal features, and other premium content. Bread Premium is available as:

• Monthly subscription: Billed every month
• Annual subscription: Billed once per year

4.2 Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for Bread Premium. During the free trial, you have full access to premium features at no cost. The trial terms are as follows:

• The free trial begins when you confirm the subscription in the App Store or Google Play.
• You will not be charged during the trial period.
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription, and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee.
• You may cancel the trial at any time through your device's subscription settings.
• Free trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google and is typically limited to one trial per Apple ID or Google account.

4.3 Automatic Renewal

All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the same price you originally subscribed.

4.4 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Payment terms are subject to the respective store's terms and conditions:

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we increase the price, you will be notified in advance through the App Store or Google Play, and any price change will take effect at the start of your next billing period. You will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price applies.

4.6 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. To cancel:

• iOS: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Bread > Cancel Subscription
• Android: Go to Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Bread > Cancel Subscription

After cancellation, you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. After that period ends, your access will revert to the free tier.

4.7 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund:

• iOS: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
• Android: Contact Google Play support through the Play Store app

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
• Circumvent any subscription or access restrictions
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app or its content
• Use automated tools to extract content from the app

6. Intellectual Property

All content in Bread, including but not limited to text, images, illustrations, course materials, recipes, and software, is owned by Bread or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.

Content you create within the app (journal entries, notes, photos) remains yours. We do not claim ownership of user-generated content.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Bread is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Baking results will match the descriptions in our educational content
• The app will be compatible with all devices or operating system versions

Baking involves working with food, heat, and potentially dangerous equipment. You assume all risks associated with baking activities. Our content is educational and should not be considered professional food safety advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bread and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising out of or related to your use of the app.

Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for Bread Premium in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Modifications to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes to the Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of your jurisdiction.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
